    Who can join Catalyst?

While most communities are reserved for members, we plan to launch some communities that non-members will have access to participate and engage.

    Why should I join Catalyst?

Catalyst is a secure and easy-to-use community, which allows you to carry on meaningful online conversations with your colleagues.

What can I get from the Catalyst community that I can’t get from LinkedIn or Facebook?

While there are advantages to engaging with other social media sites like LinkedIn and Facebook, Catalyst is designed for professionals in the meetings industry just like you. Discussions in the Catalyst communities will include relevant information for you and your career, and allow you connect to other industry connections based on your PCMA profile. PCMA members (both planners and suppliers) in all industry segments can use the site to build relationships and network with others who share their interests, specialties or questions.

One of the advantages of Catalyst is that you can build a network of contacts that are also Catalyst members. Networks link people to each other based on matching criteria. A network is meant to be a quick way to find people that have something in common with you that you may want to connect with.

What do the “Most Active Members” on the Catalyst homepage signify?

Points are a way of measuring online engagement for all members. It’s also allows PCMA to recognize our most active members. Point totals are tabulated automatically with every action you take on the site. Activities that engage other members, sending a message or responding to a discussion have a higher point value than activities such as viewing a discussion, logging into the site or viewing a document in the Resource Center.
